I was a member of that team of five composers; we worked together and with the director, choreographer, and three sound designers to stitch together a cohesive story that could be told through sound - there was no dialogue or narration whatsoever. We chose a Wagnerian approach and got to work writing themes for each main character. My themes for Man and Prometheus were chosen to be used by the team, and I worked with John Watza to co-compose the Snake theme (a combination of Prometheus, who created her, and Pandora, who she later becomes).
Once we had the themes worked out, we divided the scenes among ourselves. I chose Scenes Four and Five, which also meant that I would compose the Intermission music between them. Scene Four begins as Prometheus starts to create Man. Prometheus and Zeus had created several animals together, but Prometheus has been creating more without him, using Zeus's fire without permission to give life to her new creations.
After Intermission, the storm caused by Zeus's wrath is still rumbling. Man and Dog discover the rain, and Prometheus resolves to steal fire from Zeus to help her creation.
I am elated with this show's execution and reception. Many, many people put an incredible amount of work and love into making this show both amazing and safe. The show was directed by Christopher Plummer, and the composition team also included Kevin Gray, Libby Meyer, Jonathan Moths, and John Watza.
