Euphony Blues: Loudspeaker Project

Euphony Blues: mixing monitors designed and constructed by Lindsey L. Johns.

Design Goals: 

1) Accurate frequency response: at least +/- 3 dB, preferably +/- 1.5 dB, low distortion
2) Accurate bass response down to at least 60 dB
3) Smallest possible size for shelf or desk placement
4) Sturdy and unique-looking cabinet
5) Budget under $600

Results:

1) +/- 1.5 dB between 55 Hz and 18 kHz, less than 1% harmonic distortion over 50 Hz
2) f3 of 50 Hz
3) Dimensions: 14" wide, 19" tall, 14" deep
4) Very sturdy cabinet with internal brace and custom glossy indigo 
5) Cost about $500
